Playing possum

Exhibit A, right, we have yet another furry marsupial overstayer, gripping onto a manuka tree in our backyard for dear life with a look of patent fear and bewilderment after being pursued through a bed of agapanthus and chased up a manuka tree by a deliriously crazed hound from hell.

And here, a short time later, we have Exhibit B: one very remorseful hound tied up on the verandah and an extremely silly one at that, one who had to be physically dragged from under said manuka tree, salivating extensively from the corner of her mouth, hackles hoisted, yipping hysterically, with eyes fit to pop out of her skull.

Ah yes, Pippa: she's all about the "self-control."

Hehhehh Overstayer. Indeed they are. Way to go Pippa.

oh yeah, those overstayers, we get a few of them here too. Tia likes to catch hedgehogs though. btw that's one BIG possum.

I suppose it's just lucky it could move fast! Are they a pest to have in the garden?

Yep, sure are. These little Aussie bastards strip our Kiwi bush bare, and do so much better over here that they breed like, well, like possums!

If Pippa doesn't get him, a farmer in his 4WD will bowl him over in the middle of the road, or he'll get picked off by a possum trapper (their skins are worth quite a lot). No cutesy furry protected species bollocks here.
