Just like Chris, over at Rude Cactus, there’s a lot of things I Think I Should Understand But I Don’t.
And there’s quite a few on his list that I have to add to mine…
- Country music
- The Global Recession
- Adam Sandler
- The attraction of playing Playstation games that are not Buzz or Singstar
- Asparagus
- Matchbox 20
- Dungarees
- People who don’t read books
- Caramel popcorn
- Carob
- The stockmarket
- Angelina Jolie
- Quilted and scented toiletpaper
- Wuthering Heights
- Mushrooms
- Gordon Ramsay
- Yoga
- Botox
- The practice of wearing one’s jeans so low you can see one’s underwear
- The longevity of The Wiggles
- Nostril hair
- Keira bloody Knightley
- Golf
- Bling
- Alice bands
- The Sims
- Orlando Bloom
- Touting religion door to door.
- Lost

- Oysters
Can you explain any of these to me? And what would be on your list?

waaah I loathe angelina jolie, she just irritates me! As for oysters and asparagus, um they’re yum! I gotta do this one!
I thought I didn’t understand asparagus but then I tried it as a salad. Cold, grilled with olive oil and salt & pepper and then with fresh lime juice squeezed over the top- it all became clear.
White asparagus I still don’t understand.
Yoga needs to be practised to understand the feeling of fluidity and calm that envelopes the body after a good yoga session. I miss yoga.
Totally agree with you about not getting Gordon Ramsay – attitude is one thing, but his level of rudeness is downright indulgent. And people who don’t read books – how is this even possible? But as for LOST, you must at least try. I’ve been watching since the first season and find I haven’t had this kind of unnatural obsession with a show since The West Wing. The characters, the dialogue, Sawyer’s nicknames and Hurley’s semi-insanity – I can’t stop watching!
I used to be a Lost fan, but after season three I just gave up! Even Sawyer taking off his shirt and wading out of the sea Mr Darcy style wasn’t enough to keep me hooked…
Gordon Ramsay is totally overexposed – in every way. Enough already.
I’m married to a man who has read, ooh, maybe three books in the thirteen years we’ve been together. It’s inexplicable really…one thing about him I do not understand!
Try Season 4 of LOST when it comes out on DVD – I know it took a turn for a while, but now that the writers know the end point it’s must see TV once again!
I’m a big fan of caramel popcorn. Will eat it until it’s gone and how much I start with doesn’t really matter. I thinik it’s because I had to give up candied apples and most other caramel as a kid with false teeth. I loves Cracker Jack. There is nothing rational about this explanation, though. Sorry.
