Hold it still

There's a rather nasty north-easterly blowing today, so when I ventured outside to do my usual Sunday's worth of photography, I had to put on my favourite pink and grey striped beanie to stop my ears freezing solid and a thick application of lip balm to stop the skin on my lips being stripped off.

This also meant that in order for my camera's autofocus to work, I had to hold this daffodil (the last one standing) still before it was whipped out of my fingers.

Meanwhile, the washing has wrapped itself round the line a bazillion times, and the dogs have turned all wind-crazy and are running round on the front lawn like lunatics, complete with bulging eyes and manic expressions. Wind! Blowing at me! Blowing at you! Heh! Heh!

Miss 8.11 is crashed out on the couch after 24 hours of partying - she's attended a neighbour's 6th birthday party and her friend's 9th birthday sleepover. The Other Harf is watching highlights of the Springbok/Wallabies game (even though he's English and married to a Kiwi - nah, I don't get it)

As for me, after this it's cup of tea time and a few hours by the fire reading the latest Digital Camera magazine, then it's my stint at making dinner: Thai Green Curry (oh yeah!) for the grownups and sausages and mash for the notgrownup.

Yep, yep, yep.

And so another week rolls round...

I'm sure the wallabies vs springboks game was more exciting than ours have been, I've been catching up on theirs rather than ours - at least I won't be guaranteed to fall asleep. Isn't that the great thing when the kids go to sleepovers - they are tired the next day.

Thai green curry - yum! I'd love some :o)

your hostess Fi (40, just) and currently residing in a big old house in rural Northland, New Zealand with my lovely English husband (known round here as the Other Harf), our daughter (currently Miss 9.10) and a menagarie of orphaned animals and over-extended relatives. Have mercy.

This month I am mostly appreciating jonquils...

Fancy a date?
