For various reasons over the last four months, I have been procrastinating at an all time high over my exercise regime. Safe to say I have done next to none, with the exception of a few sessions on the treadmill and Saturdays slogging away in the gardening (these Saturdays are usually absolutely exhausting, and I ache all over the next day, but one day a week does not count).

And of course, melting the soles of one's trainers on the ventilation panel of the Kent Fire doesn't help.

So I had a serious discussion with myself. You are a complete and utter lazy shite, Fi! Why aren't you exercising? You're going to turn into a balumba! Not to mention high blood pressure, high cholestrol, the next size up in clothing blah blah blah. Yeah, I know. But, I'm just too tired. Got no enthusiasm. But most of all the time of the day I'm putting aside just wasn't working for me - that is, when I arrive home from work around 6pm after a half an hour's drive and an eight hour day in front of a desk. All I want to do is galumph on the couch with Miss 8.10 or chat about my day (and his) and share a bottle of wine with the Other Harf!

So Fi, when do you have time? Well, in my lunch-break. I have an hour, which I usually while away in Cameron Street Mall (dangerous - too many temptations to buy buy buy) or surfing the net at my desk (therefore not even leaving the office for a proper break).

I can get dressed in five minutes, and with my iPod and my camera phone (also doubly handy for my Whangarei Daily Photo) in hand spend at least forty minutes exploring the inner streets of Whangarei wearing my bright shiny brand new trainers! Shower, change, and back to my desk, fully exercised for the day!

Fi, this is brilliant!

Now the only thing is can...you keep this up?

Good for you! I have been trying to keep a good 3-4 workouts a week schedule going. Sometimes walking, sometimes running, sometimes hiking. Hope you can keep it up! Summer is coming, right, so the weather should be cooperative for a while.

I must admit, since I've been exercising for the last few months I feel alot better and have more energy.

I'm feeling better already. It's great to have a break away from my desk, and know that it's doing me good makes it even better :)

Brought to you by...

your hostess Fi (40, just) and currently residing in a big old house in rural Northland, New Zealand with my lovely English husband (known round here as the Other Harf), our daughter (currently Miss 9.10) and a menagarie of orphaned animals and over-extended relatives. Have mercy.

This month I am mostly appreciating jonquils...

Fancy a date?
