The wonderful and extremely thoughtful Antipo sent me this lovely link from The Guardian the other day: the delicious Viggo Mortensen posting answers to the questions on Q&A.
I do so appreciate it when Antipo spots anything Viggo-ish she instantly thinks, ooh, Fi!
And, at a small loss as to what to post today, and wanting to post something, I had a crack at the questions myself.
When were you happiest?
When they placed our newborn baby daughter on my arms for the first time. Even though she had a red, screwed up, slightly boiled monkey face from being given such a hard time over the previous 27 hours, I thought she was the most fantastic thing that had ever happened to me.
What is your greatest fear?
Without a doubt, losing somebody to cancer. It's just so pervasive...I feel like it's hovering in the wings waiting to claim somebody I love.
Which living person do you most admire, and why?
My friend Shelley. She's always there for her friends and her family. She has a true heart of gold.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Procrastination! When I get round to it, that is.
What is your most unappealing habit?
Correcting people's grammar and picking my ears. Never at the same time, mind you - that would be very unappealing indeed.
What is your favourite smell?
(I'm intrigued by Viggo's answer to this one: "To truthfully answer at this time, I'd have to reveal something that is too intimate to reveal") !!
As for me, it's hard to pick between the top of Miss 9.4's newly shampooed head after she's just gotten out of the shower, freshly-brewed coffee, roast lamb or belladonna lillies.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Long lie-ins with breakfast in bed and a stack of magazines. I don't actually feel that guilty about it. Nope, not at all. Okay then: indulging in a bottle (or three) of ice cold Scrumpy cider without sharing it with the OH.
What is the worst job you've ever done?
When I was 12 I was a delivery girl from a pharmacy. It wasn't the delivering that was the worst; it was the washing and peeling of the labels off of second-hand pill and medicine bottles in the poky, dark, windowless bathroom in the back of the shop. I hated that job!
To whom would you most like to say sorry, and why?
Steven Wagner. I bullied you. I am so, so, sorry.
What is the love of your life?
My home.
Which living person do you most despise?
I haven't despised anybody since high school before now, but the manager I had at That Job takes the cake well and truly. I still fantasise about running her down in the street with a steamroller...
What phrases do you most overuse?
"Not cool." Or "Very cool." Must stop saying "cool"!
What has been your biggest disappointment?
Not being able to have a brother or sister for Miss 9.4. It's complicated, difficult and very emotional.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Woodstock! But would I remember anything?
When did you last cry and why?
When my friend J left to go home last time she and her husband came to visit from the UK. Waah!
How do you relax?
Taking photographs, reading, gardening, a few glasses of wine or cider and gazing at the view from our verandah.
What is the closest you've come to death?
I
was tipped out into a Grade 5 river and swept downstream whitewater
rafting when I was 23. I've also been knocked unconscious three
times...twice falling off horses and once falling off a mountain-bike.
Ouch!
What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
Lose 15 kilos! And winning the Powerball on the Lotto tonight.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Happiness.
What keeps you awake at night?
The Other Harf's Darth Vader snoring. Apart from that, dreading work the following day, which fortunately hasn't happened for a while now.
What song would you like played at your funeral?
Probably "Landslide' by Fleetwood Mac.
How would you like to be remembered?
I would hope to be quite elderly when I die, and therefore be remembered for being extremely eccentric!

Your greatest achievement is great indeed!
oh I hear ya, cancer is awful indeed, wouldn't wish it on anyone.
